1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CopperTab, Inc. ("CopperTab," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses personal information about visitors to our website at coppertab.com and people who interact with our marketing, sales, and support activities.

This policy applies only to information we collect through our public website and marketing channels. It describes how we handle information about website visitors, prospective customers, and people who contact us.

What this policy does not cover

This policy does not govern protected health information (PHI). When CopperTab processes PHI on behalf of a healthcare provider, that processing is governed by the Business Associate Agreement (BAA) between CopperTab and that provider, together with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and applicable state law. Nothing in this policy modifies, replaces, or limits the obligations set out in any BAA.

This policy also does not cover personal information we process on behalf of our customers as part of providing the CopperTab service. That information is handled in accordance with our customer agreements and the BAA, not this website policy.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our website, remember your preferences, and understand site usage. Some cookies are necessary for the site to function, while others support analytics.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, through a cookie preferences tool on our website. Disabling some cookies may affect how the website functions.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information only in the circumstances described below.

Service providers. We share information with vendors that perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting and analytics. These providers are permitted to use the information only to perform services for us.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, respond to lawful requests, protect our rights or property, or protect the safety of any person.

Business transfers. If CopperTab is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of its assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the commitments in this policy.

With your direction. We share information when you ask us to or otherwise consent to the sharing.

7. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including to respond to inquiries, maintain business records, and comply with legal obligations. We then delete or de-identify it. Retention periods vary by the type of information and the reason we hold it.

8. Your choices

Marketing communications. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those messages or by contacting us. We may still send you non-marketing messages, such as responses to your inquiries.

Cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser and any cookie preference tool we provide.

Access and updates. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the details in Section 2. Your rights may depend on where you live, as described in Sections 9 and 10.

9. California privacy rights

This section applies to California residents and supplements the rest of this policy as required by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA").

Categories of personal information we collect. In the past 12 months, we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 3, which may include identifiers (such as name, email, and IP address), commercial information, internet and network activity, professional or employment information, and inferences. We collect this information from the sources described in Section 3 and use it for the purposes described in Section 4.

Sale and sharing. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA.

Sensitive personal information. We do not collect or process sensitive personal information through our website for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.

Your rights. Subject to certain exceptions, California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, to request access to and a copy of that information, to request correction, and to request deletion. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

How to exercise your rights. Submit a request using the contact details in Section 2. We will verify your request before responding, which may require us to confirm information we already hold about you. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to verification of the agent's authority.

10. Canada privacy rights

This section applies to individuals in Canada and reflects our commitments under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

We collect, use, and disclose personal information for the purposes identified in this policy and obtain consent where required. The form of consent may be express or implied depending on the sensitivity of the information and the context. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting us using the details in Section 2.

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request correction of inaccurate information. We are accountable for personal information in our custody, including information transferred to service providers for processing. As described in Section 11, personal information may be stored or processed in the United States and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, and regulatory authorities in that country.

Some provinces, including Quebec, have privacy laws that may provide additional rights. We comply with the provincial privacy laws applicable to our activities. If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, you may contact us first, and you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your applicable provincial privacy regulator.

11. International data transfers

We are based in the United States, and we store and process information in the United States. If you access our website from outside the United States, including from Canada, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate protection for transferred information.

12. Children's privacy

Our website is intended for businesses and professional audiences and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
